ALOK (they/them) is an internationally acclaimed poet, comedian, actor, and public speaker whose work explores gender, identity, and belonging. They are the author of the globally celebrated books Beyond the Gender Binary, Femme in Public, and Your Wound, My Garden. ALOK has performed for audiences in more than 40 countries, with sold-out shows at the Edinburgh Fringe Festival and the Netflix Is a Joke Festival. Their debut comedy special, BIOLOGY!, was executive produced by Christopher Guest.
ALOK is the subject of the 2024 Sundance Film Festival docu-short ALOK, directed by Alex Hedison and executive produced by Jodie Foster. Their screen credits also include Complicated Order, The Trans List, and Absolute Dominion. On television, they have appeared in HBO's The Sex Lives of College Girls, Sort Of, and Random Acts of Flyness; Hulu's Planet Sex with Cara Delevingne; and Netflix's Gender Agenda comedy special and Getting Curious with Jonathan Van Ness.
